Blackburn and other parts of East Lancashire are set to be hotter than parts of Spain today, as temperatures soar.

The Met Office has predicted highs of 20°C today (May 2) – and Magaluf is set to be one degree cooler, according to the national weather service.

Enjoy the fine weather today as rain showers and cloud have been forecast for the rest of the week, across Lancashire.

Elsewhere in the UK, thunderstorms are set to hit the UK from 12pm as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning.

Lancashire is not covered by the warning and sunshine has been forecast for most of the day.

A Met Office spokesperson said: “A cloudy start in places, however many will have a sunny day with cloud lifting and breaking.

“There is the possibility of a few heavy showers in the south this afternoon. Feeling warm in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 20°C.”
