Football chance for Coppull youngsters

Youngsters in Coppull have the opportunity of playing football since the formation of the Coppull United Under 13s team.

The team play at Blainscough Park in the village and compete in the Central Lancashire League.

Thye finished in a creditable fourth place in the Blackburn and Hyndburn League last season as well as reaching a cup final.

Dougie Howlett, who helped form the club along with grandson Danny, said: "We were dismayed to find that previous junior teams in the village had been disbanded so were determined to something about it and leave a solid base for future generation s."

Danny, 69, and his coaching partner Jason Stringfellow both have FA badges and years of experience coaching both junior and senior teams.

The club has been helped by sponsorship from DOC Roofing.
