Members of the public will have a chance to meet their county councillors face-to-face during a forthcoming visit to Chorley.

The visit by Lancashire County Council’s mobile information unit will take place on Tuesday 2 September between 10am to 4pm, in Market Street - close to St George’s Street.

County councillors attending during the day will include Alan Whittaker, Chair of the county council; along with County Councillors Pat Case, Ed Forshaw and Margaret Livesey.

Councillor Whittaker said: “The visit is a good opportunity to meet face-to-face with your county councillors, discuss any issues that may concern you and learn more about county council services.

“Around 85 per c! ent of public services in Chorley are provided by the county council, but not everyone is familiar with the services we provide.

“During previous events of this type we’ve had some very interesting and lively discussions about important local issues.

"We’ve also been able to point people in the right direction to help answer their questions.”

They will be joined by a member of the county council’s customer access team, who can use the council’s electronic information systems to assist with answering questions and helping members of the public.

The county council’s mobile information unit includes information and leaflets on council services, with staff also on hand to offer advice about important issues.
