Businesses and organisations in the Chorley area are being urged to enter a special charity event which aims to raise funds for the next generation of cancer zapping technology.

The It’s A Knockout game show made famous by Stuart Hall will feature scores of teams joining in the event which pits contestants tackling giant inflatable obstacles in a series of fun games.

Organised by the Rosemere Cancer Foundation in an effort to raise funds for its Ray of Hope Appeal, which aims to bring the latest life saving cancer technology to Lancashire’s specialist Cancer Centre in Preston, the event will be held at 2pm on Saturday 6 September at Walmer Bridge Village Hall.

For an information pack or to book one of the limited team places please call 01772 522009.

The Ray of Hope Appeal has raised over £425,000 towards purchasing Image Guided Radiotherapy.

It works by destroying the cancer cells in the treated area.

Normal cells are also sometimes damaged by the radiotherapy but this new hi-tech machine will ensure that more of the cancer and far less healthy cells are targeted during treatment.

The Rosemere Cancer Foundation supports the provision of cancer services across Lancashire and South Cumbria, including the region’s dedicated Cancer Centre at Royal Preston Hospital.

It treats people from across Lancashire and South Cumbria, providing specialist radiotherapy care and is one of the biggest dedicated Cancer Centres in the country and rivals many longer established centres.
