With the disruption to rail services in Chorley having started on Saturday you would have thought that Northern Rail would have had the replacement services running well today. However it was not to be.

The 7.33 from Chorley to Buxton left Chorley 15 mins late.

By the time it got to Blackrod there was standing room only.

At Bolton some passengers were unable to get on the train as it was so full.

You would have thought that Northern Rail would have got the few trains running from Chorley to run on time.

It also shouldn't have been difficult for them to work out that with a reduced number of trains the ones that are left running will have an increased number of passengers.

It seems we are now in for six weeks of overcrowded trains that don't run on time if todays experience is anything to go by.
